Dr. Washington is a prominent figure in healthcare serving in the capacity of thought-leader, advocate, researcher, and performance improvement expert who has worked with healthcare systems, U.S. government agencies and numerous policymaker groups to ensure that evidence-based engagement and equitable approaches are at the heart of healthcare redesign.
Dr. Washington is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE) and received her Doctor of Health Administration Degree from Central Michigan University, Masters of Heath Administration from Governors State University and Bachelor of Arts with a focus in Business Administration from Chicago State University. To her credit have been extended many nominations and awards including, 2017 CMS Leadership Award, 2014 Governors State University Luminary Pioneer Award, 2014 Illinois Department of Public Health Excellence in Community Health Leadership Award, 2013 American College of Healthcare Executives Regents Health Care Leadership Award, 2009 NAHSE National Young Healthcare Executive Award and the featured cover story for the Spring 2010 of Girlfriends Health Guide Magazine.

Born and raised in the Houston, Texas area (Missouri City), Brittny Bratcher-Rasmus is a recent doctoral graduate in the School of Health Promotion Health Studies program at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, where she is currently writing her dissertation. Brittny’s dissertation research focuses on how perceived social support impacts heart disease risk factor knowledge among African American women in Texas. Brittny holds a bachelor’s degree in Community Health and a master’s degree in Health Promotion from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. She is also an active Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) and an NCHEC Ambassador working to ensure that more public health and health education students obtain the credential for advancement in the field. As a member of APHA in 2019, Brittny served as APHA’s Women’s Caucus Program Planning Co-Chair.
In addition, she served on the TX SOPHE board from 2016-2020 and was president of the organization in 2019.Currently, Brittny is a Program Manager at ATW Health Solutions, where she manages federal programs to eliminate health disparities and increase health equity. Prior to her role at ATW, Brittny served as an Outreach Specialist specializing in Medicare beneficiary healthcare services for over six years at KEPRO under a contract awarded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Brittany is also an Adjunct Faculty member at Texas Southern University and North American University in Houston, Texas, where she has developed and teaches various health education courses.
